where do you live?

I'm guessing that you probably won't be able to get this in your country, but this PSU is great AND you only need to insert the cables you need, rather than having a lot of unnecessary cables lying around inside your machine :)

If you liked this answer, please consider giving me a thumbs up by selecting it as the best response, and best of luck with your PSU :)

that one is even worse quality. those csm series have high failure rate. ive heard tons of stories of those ruining components. i wouldnt let a csm near a nice gpu like that. at least the rm was a step up.

Here are some good, affordable power supplies:

Some top quality ones that might be a little more expensive:

Your target wattage with an overclocking system should be 650w. The recommended wattage for a 280x is 600w and then some for overclocking. More wattage is always better. It will create less heat and put less stress on your PSU. A PSU will only draw the power it needs.

Here is a link to gpu wattage recommendations: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

The tier list joex444 linked is a good list to go by.

Here's a list by quality: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html Stick to Tier 1, 2, or 3 and you'll be fine; preferably 1 or 2.

For a 4690K/280X build you're looking at the 500-650W range. Higher is fine, but often just more expense than you need. The only key feature you need is the 2x8 pin (or 2x6+2 pin) PCIe, which most will have. Modularity, etc., is all personal and up to you but 500W is sufficient for this. Consider 550W if you plan on some overclocking or would be tempted to add several more hard drives.

its not only stories. ive read detailed reviews on them as well. so your saying a base model cx/cs series psu should be considered? please explain why? also, was there anywhere in his original post that states he has a low budget? Nope.

There are plenty of teardown reviews which point out the poor quality components and under rated wiring used. Also the CX series must be the number one PSU in volume of threads that start 'Is my PSU dead?'

they're fine budget unit. i'm just put off by the endless "OMG CX BOMB!!!" crap here in just about any psu-related thread. apparently SuperFlower is the only OEM anyone likes, worthy of 17 goat sacrifices before lunchtime.

but for this build, while a CX/CS is too budget and i agree with spending more, it's no reason to completely trash a CS. or RM, for that matter.

I accidently pressed the wrong button sorry for that
Anyways i live in the netherlands

Around 50 maybe more if it's worth it
I mostly use these sites
www.Alternate.nl
www.Azerty.nl
Idk if these sites are useful for you since they are in dutch

1) the core edition is the old ts series that doesn't support some features of 4th gen haswell intel cpus.

2) 500w is not enough wattage for that system with an overclock. especially for a evga 500b. at least the 500b is haswell ready. as it is his system with an overclock on cpu/gpu can take up 450w+. it is silly to run a 480w rated +12v at almost max load consistantly. he should at least get a good quality 550w and dial back overclocks.

i'll ask him
It doesnt say in de add
Maybe you reconize it from the picture
http://link.marktplaats.nl/m957239658
(The add says 100 for the case dvd player and the psu, 50 for the psu seperatly)
