hi, i built a new pc , my specs
(1) Core i5 4690k 3.5 to 4.0Ghz
(2) MSI Z97 Gaming 5
(3) 8 GB RAM 1600Hz
(4) Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT
(5) Screen Resolution 1920x1080 60Hz
(6) Xigmatek Tauro 500W 230V Power Supply 80+ Bronze Certified
i'll be changing 9500 gt to Msi Gtx 970 4g Twin Frozr v.... Is my PSU (Xigmatek Tauro
500W 230V Power Supply 80+ Certified) enough for the Gtx 970?(I'll be playing latest games such as gta v farcry 4 and the witchers 3 etc on very high and ultra settings)
I live in Pakistan and I'll be buying the new Gpu Gtx 970 in Canada, so will there be any problem with the psu as the electric voltage in Pakistan is different than that in Canada and Americas....
do i need to change my PSU ?
plz suggest any PSU from

Solution
The Xigmatek is capable of 384 watts @ 32 amps on the +12volt rail. It's a bit on the low side. It should be closer to 40 amps but the quality of the Xigmatek is not that great. You could try it if you won't be overclocking anything but a higher quality PSU would be better. If you plan to overclock the cpu / gpu you'll need something bigger around 650 watts.

Options are limited where you live. Antec and Corsair would be the best choices I know of, but try not to get their cheapest models if you can help it.

thanks for ur reply,
i've overclocked my cpu to 4.0 by turning on msi gaming mode...and i'm not going to overclock my gpu...
so will this psu work when i play gta v and metal gear solid v at very high and ultra?
does it affect the psu if i play games on low or ultra?
also what'll happen if the power consumption of my pc increases from the amount of power that my psu gives...will it be dangerous for my pc?

If the PSU can not meet the demands of the system it can cause the GPU to get hot and system shutdowns. You should try to upgrade the PSU when you can afford it to avoid possible damage to your parts. The quality of the PSU is very important since everything in your system depends on it.

what do u think about these PSUs:

actually i'm 17 ...i'm out of money as i've bought cpu,gpu and mobo...i want to make use of the one that i just bought and i'll be buying a gold league league..🙁

i will not overclock my gpu but what about my cpu that goes up to 4.0 ghz (i'll not overclock it).
Is that alright with 4.0ghz? or should i turn off the gaming mode...by turning it off it'll take it down to 3.9 ghz.
also does the gaming graphics settings matter?i mean low and high.

yeah, i'll overclock my cpu and gpu later and i'll also be adding some leds and water cooling systems.
i'll go for 650W.
thanx again
