I have a 6 year old hp PC thats some ITX mini PC. It has like a 250 watt psu on it. I remember the temp sensor for the cpu read like -2147xxxxx something and then it died later. I think the motherboard died, but it has to be either the psu or mobo. I was going to switch out the psu to test it, but idk what psu i can switch out for it. Is it fine to test with a 750 watt psu? What about 350?

Thanks for any info.

Solution
you can burn out your PSU if you draw to much power over a long period of time.

a strong PSU will not hurt the motherboard.

the motherboard only draws the amount of power it needs.
