Maybe, probably.

But in a 10 year old P, don't rely on that protection.

It depends. Many do, but many others, especially if the maker isn't in a Western country, will not. For example, we get a lot of Romanian prebuilts that pop up here from time to time that will use nJoy PSUs, a very dodgy company that gives themselves fake certifications. You still need to research the PSU involved, you can't just accept it on faith.

Also, if the PSU is very old, then all bets are off.
