There is that V-shape silver piece on my PSU as well but that is on the fan side. And since my PSU fan faces downwards, it can't be seen.

And yes, SSR-650TD is the correct part number of Seasonic PRIME 650 80+ Titanium.
Welcome to the PRIME family! :D

Yeah, I didn't expect I'd install something upside down, but I had a "duh" moment looking at my case.

Thank you? Never thought I'd actually be excited about a power supply, but I am. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Building a new machine (CPU, MB, RAM, M.2 SSD), parts already on the way, I7 8700K machine.

Already got the Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W last week. :D

Will put the I7 7700K (CPU, MB, RAM, M.2 SSD) into another case with the Prime Ti 650W.

Great PSU, I love mine, so efficient! I hooked up a watt meter to mine, and it saved me ~80 watts under load. https://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU/ref=asc_df_B00009MDBU/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167125429392&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10382358653240369400&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010170&hvtargid=pla-306572288073&psc=1

Regarding latest news, Seasonic released it's PRIME AirTouch series,
specs: https://seasonic.com/prime-airtouch
review: http://www.relaxedtech.com/reviews/seasonic/prime-airtouch-850w-gold/

Currently, only 850W unit is in that series with 80+ Gold efficiency and it uses PRIME platform. What makes it stand out is it's black & red theme, where's almost all PRIME units so far have been black & silver themed, except PRIME SnowSilent which is completely white.

If Seasonic would release 650W unit in AirTouch series with 80+ Titanium efficiency, i'd replace my SSR-650TD out to match my Skylake build theme. Until that doesn't happen, i'll keep enjoying my SSR-650TD.

Gonna get back to adding units and making improvements to the list on the first page soon, I promise. Just been too busy with life and trying to get back to head above water status after being off work so long after my shoulder surgery. Not that anybody REALLY cares, but thought I'd let you know anyhow.

Sure we care. :)

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm incredibly surprised that that new EVGA B3 650w unit Aris tested had wildly different results from the other three units he tested in that series. I wonder what is up with that? Maybe they took his review to heart and revisited the design?

Still, too expensive for a bronze unit anyway.

Time will tell I suppose if they are really any good or not.

But yeah I agree, if I was going to get a Bronze unit it would be a Seasonic Prime.

I wasn't aware there were ANY Seasonic Prime units, that were bronze. Seems to me they are all Gold or higher.

Even the old B2 units mostly did Silver in testing. Apparently these don't. They might be a little more worthy if they at least tended towards Silver efficiency, but when you can get a Gold unit for ten bucks more, or even the same price when there is a sale, I don't see them being popular or getting recommended much.

You are right, I was thinking GOLD.

$35 for a mediocre power supply? No thanks. Not when you can find an evga BT for $25 or the much better Corsair CX/CXM for $40.

For those confused, the S12ii has sub-par electrical performance and lacking important protections.
Very low voltage regulation on the minor rails, and poor performance in crossload: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Antec/HCG-520/
The Hy510n Protection chip the S12ii uses lacks OCP completely, UVP on the 12V rail, and no OTP in the PSU. All of which are important protections.

Ok, the bashing of the S12II and M12II units on TH by you has gone on long enough. These are units that have older platforms but still work fine for thousands of people around the world including in one machine of my own and five machines for clients that have been running for five plus years.

These are good choices for people who don't have other, better options, in specific regions or even for people in regions where other units are available when there are sales that make the trade off worth it. You've been told this time and time again by many of us and the bashing needs to end. Personally, I wouldn't put any of the med to lower tiered EVGA units in any machine I was working on. EVGA branded units not based on Leadex and Leadex II platforms tend to have a very iffy track record at best and tend to outright fail testing, at worst.

You've also been told multiple times why the protections that are lacking on the S12II are not there, so let's find something else to bash that merits it and get off the group regulated bandwagon shall we. It's beginning to become a sore subject and it's getting noticed in higher circles than you run in.

Saying these are not good units is going to be considered spreading misinformation going forward. Are they the best? No. Are they better than 90% of the power supplies that are available in every non-US market. Absolutely, without any doubt.
