PSU Sparked and shut down system. What??

Loading up dead rising 3... Then PSU just sparked a light about. 1.5x bigger than the PSU its self..

It shut my system down, I turned off the plug socket asap.

Haven't turned it back on.. I guess I better get a new PSU, and hope my other components aren't damagedz

Installed Z97 motherboard and i5 4690k yesterday.. Probably nothing to do with it?

My PSU is: RM 650X

That sounds like a PSU problem, Corsair isn't really reliable in their PSUs as far as quality control is concerned, Id recommend something from EVGA.

Sent off an email to Amazon to get a refund or replacement.

I hope to god my components aren't damaged I've had the R9 390 for less than a week, and only got new
Motherboard and CPU yesterday*

I believe your components should be fine as long as they managed to protect from a surge. Most z97 boards have a surge protection sequence (meaning that your components might not be damaged), so fingers crossed.

Most of the time your components will be fine , it is a good PSU choice , sorry this happened.

Given that is normally a very good psu, i would be surprised if anything else was damaged. Even Corsairs lowend units with the higher failure rate arent known for damaging other parts when they fail. Just some bad luck, but even the nice units fail sometimes. Amazons is usually real quick with replacements/refunds especially if you are a prime member.
