Antec VP400PC vs Coole Master Elite 500w vs Hantol Real power 600W vs Corsair Builder Series VS350 To power this pc ?
Im using CM B700 but the capacitors are dead...

Intel Core i5-3470
GTX 960IX-OC
6GB RAM
2x 500GB HDD

Antec all the way, although you might be running it near its limit with an overclocked GTX960. What power connectors does it have?
The VS350 doesn't have the power, CoolerMaster is near-junk, and I've never heard of Hantol, making me suspect "PSU-shaped object."

Im using the Gigabyte Mini ATX GTX 960 and the antec will hold on right ?

There's a reason I don't bother with Cooler Master products anymore. My old Scout 2 had barely any room for watercooling, let alone space for a high end system.

Wish I would have read through all of this before buying the Thermaltake TR2 600 from Newegg. Got the runaround on the rebate, which Tt handled nicely, but the PSU was DOA. Now I have the hassle of the RMA, only to recieve a refurb in return. There oughta be a law... Since I've educated myself a bit, and since found out that I shouldn't be using the Tt in the first place, I'm going to shell out for a proper one.

I've narrowed it down to these two based on my budget after doing a lot of reading here. This is for a legacy build, so I know it's a bit overkill - I'll be running a e8400 c2d with 4 gigs of 6400 RAM, the video card is an NVIDIA 8400, and an M-Audio 2496 sound card - but I'd rather have room to upgrade a bit on the secondary PC if needed.

Has fewer Molex connectors than the XFX, not that I'll need them, but it IS a legacy project...

XFX TS Edition PRO650W (P1-650S-NLB9) 650W

Around the same price, similar features, what do you think between the two?

Thanks for your input.

Yeah, I was eyeballing the SeaSonic, but since I'm currently unemployed, the rebate does have a certain appeal. Especially because I'm out $50 on the recent tragedy known as the TR2 600 😛

tiny voices, could you please tell me what makes the XFX much better? I'm assuming part of that is because it's a rebranded SeaSonic (if that's correct) but what else is there?

Thanks again for your input.

The XFX TS Series 650W PSU 80+ Bronze uses modern DC to DC converter design which results in much more stable voltage regulation. The EVGA 600B is based on an old group regulated circuit design that results in the +5V rail going out of spec when crossloaded (e.g. when used in an Intel Haswell or later build).

The XFX model also has a longer 5 year warranty vs. EVGA 600B's 3 year warranty.

The XFX model uses all Japanese 105°C rated electrolytic capacitors on both its primary and secondary sides. The EVGA 600B uses a Taiwanese Teapo 85°C rated capacitor on its primary and Teapo 105°C capacitors on its secondary. Japanese capacitors have a longer life span and are more expensive.

The EVGA 600B has an insufficient hold-up time of 12.8ms for the PSU to meet the minimum 16ms hold-up time required by the ATX12V specs.

Allrighty then. For clarification, when XFX description says "7 x Peripheral" they really mean 4 pin Molex, yes?

If so, I'm going to get the XFX. Sounds like a winner at that price point... And they're much more expensive on Amazon right now. Quite the difference, actually.

Yes.

550w: $90, $10 taxes, $6 shipping. Grand total $106.
Evga G2 550w : $90, $9 taxes, free shipping, $10 rebate. Grand total $89.

Both from newegg.

Cyonic gonna have a very, very hard time selling the 550w, 650w up against the Evga G2, XFX etc that come in almost $20 cheaper or better.
