based on? i don't see any negatives actually defined anywhere for this series. just people posting that the information provided by RAIDMAX may be false, not what those false claims are or what testing was done.

Based on the fact that I've never seen a reputable review site give them an even halfway decent score on any of their units, and based on the fact that from years and years of dealing with failed or burned Raidmax units in the forums and in the field. If a Raidmax unit was the only thing available after a cataclysmic event and I had to have one, I'd probably use it, otherwise, I would never use one.

*for new purchase or comparative questions should we continue to post here or create new PSU related threads each time?

besides the obvious tier scheduling difference for +$20, would there be any advantage to either of these PSUs over the others in a Z97 i7, 1x GPU, 8x fan, 1x radiator, overclocked setup?

SeaSonic S12G-750 750W [Tier 2] ~$100

Fractal Design Edison M 750W [Tier 2] ~$110

CORSAIR RM750i 750W [Tier 1] ~$130

EVGA 220-GS-0850-V1 850W [Tier ?] ~$100
(Supernova GS is listed as Tier 1, but ***-GS-**** is not listed)

thanks for quick replies.
but the question is about what the specific advantage of one\some over the others would be. not just a quick personal preference list, please.

Seasonic makes the best power supplies on the planet in my opinion.

None of the other companies in that post above even make power supplies. They go to companies that do make them, choose something that those companies have designed, probably tweak a thing or two on that design, and pay to have those units made for them.

The EVGA GS series is in fact made by Seasonic.
The Fractal Design Edison series is in fact made by Seasonic.
The Corsair RM750i is in fact made by Channel Well Technology

Most of the power supplies listed on the Power Supply List as being Tier 1 are made by Seasonic.

So I guess it boils down to this. If Seasonic is making all these units, and 3 of the 4 companies in that post simply do not make power supplies at all, which company do you want to deal with?

Whose power supply do you want in your PC?

I do not like Corsair as a company, personally. Specifically relating to PSUs.

The EVGA GS is a Seasonic based unit and basically as good as it gets.

The Corsair RMi is a CWT based unit. Great it is, but CWT will never be able to best Seasonic in my book.

Obviously the Seasonic is very good because it is a Seasonic but uses a slightly cheaper platform than the EVGA.

The Fractal is good because it also is a Seasonic but it is, too, based on a slightly cheaper Seasonic platform than the EVGA.

As far as Seasonic being the best, I would only rate SuperFlower on the same level as them with Delta right behind them.

The specific advantage is all the same. Quality, Performance, and Quietness. EVGA G2/P2/B2 are all made by Superflower who makes slightly better quality units than SeaSonic. For noise they both are quiet but probably would pick EVGA over SeaSonic due to the cost difference. The GS from EVGA is a cheap unit made by SeaSonic so slightly not as good as the G2 but I cannot argue with ether level of quality. Lastly is Corsair who use to make excellent units but the costs have gone up and the quality has taken a turn for the worse with some of their units. The AX i is the only good unit from them and I would not get it due to the cost. EVGA P2 is equal or better quality and cheaper. As said above Superflower > SeaSonic > CWT (there are other units between CWT and SeaSonic like Delta [another basically as good as it gets unit/OEM]).

So I am very curious about what the difference between Leadex and Superflower? I know from reading here that Superflower units are definitely good units (at least I hope they are because I invested in one: EVGA B2), but I've read on review sites that the Superflowers don't match up to the Leadex builds?

VS is tier 3. Listed with this:
"Tier Three
Some Haswell compatible, some not (maybe unconfirmed). Still safe to use and stable, just lower quality components. Some capacitors maybe Japanese, but can include the Taiwanese capacitors. Not really ideal in serious overclocking or super-high load situations, such as a Bitcoin mining rig or a high end gaming system."

Leadex is a reference to a specific platform (circuit design) that SuperFlower is using.

While I buy tier 1-2 PSUs myself, and don't plan to change that, if I saw a rig with a Tier-3 PSU in it, I'd have to have very specific reasons to recommend replacing it, which seems unlikely. Especially in a part of the world where the alternatives are things like iBall and Zebronics, I won't even mention it.

Stickies used to unsticky when they were posted in. Linking was the easiest way to do it.

But is that still the case? The Windows 10 Experience sticky seems to be constantly replied to and remained sticky.
I'm just saying maybe it's time to sticky this thread and unsticky the old one.

Actually, wasn't the original tier list stickied, and then that link was changed to this list? Or something along those lines?
