Purchasing k6+ products

i have an old k6-2 450 system that seems to run slower than my old p5 166 system. i am quite discouraged, but the k6-2+ and the k6-3+ systems sound much better due to the increased cache size... is there any possible way to put them into a va-503+? if not... would it really help that much to replace my k6-2 450 with a k6-3 475?

The K6 plus cpus do work on the 503+

That sounds wrong. The K6-2 shouldn't be as slow as you are describing. I agree, go post at the amdzone K6-X forum. There are some very clever guys there, particularly "uart".

have a look on your bios to see if you have cpu cache enabled, my old k6-2 had the same kind of problem.
