Purchasing two same games

Hi, uhm i have an account on steam and my friend wants to create an account and play the same game that i have but he has to purchase the game in order to play it. Now, will steam download a new set of files for him on my computer when he purchases it or will it just use my files and register on his account that he bought the game ?

Steam will recognize the game files already on your computer, so when he purchase it he will be able to play right away

If you are going to play on the same computer, then no, you don't have to download it twice, each user will have his own individual settings but the game files will be the same.
