i was just wondering whats the difference between the B3 and the GO intel quad q6600?
i just bought a open box q6600 for 196$ @ newegg would i get the B3 or GO stepping?

The G0 is better for over-clocking.

If it's open box, it's probably a B3. More than likely, someone ordered it previously from Newegg hoping to get a G0 so they could over-clock it. Got it, saw that it was a B3 and shipped it back.

If you have no plans to over-clock the processor, don't worry about the stepping.

Yes thats the only difference. But a B3 might be 3.6GHz. I know a G0 can normally hit 3.4GHz on air and 3.8GHz on water. Thats a 58% OC and will probably smoke the living shizznizz out of anything like it lol.

Awesome. If it is a G0 it will be a bit better and may hit 3.8GHz. Good luck. I still love my Q6600 G0 @ 3GHz. Blows my old P4 EE 3.4GHz away like it was paper.

thanks man i appreciate all ur help im keeping my fingers crossed hopefully its a go stepping one. haha of course it blows away a p4 but those were mighty fine in the old days. q6600 probably kills my old amd x2 5200.
