Overall I spent about $600-750 (including monitor) or so about 2 years ago. I have upgraded the memory and will most likely upgrade the processor and maybe get a non-integrated video card. I don't spend much on my computers. I don't game much, but like to keep up on what's new and everything. I also build computers for others that are typically in the same price range.

It's a work in progress so try not to hate:

Intel q9550 @ 2.83 ghz
4x1gb Kingston memory
SuperMicro C2SBX
Radeon by Sapphire 4870HD
Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro
Lynksys 300N
2x640gb Western Digital HDD
Antec NeoPower 650 Blue
LG Blu-Ray/HD DVD player and multi DVD Burner (no BD burning)
Asus Multi DVD Burner
Sunbeamtech Chromatic Windmill
Koolance reservoir/pump
Full Koolance liquid cooling (Blocks on RAM, CPU, GPU, and HDD)
Koolance Shroud/Riser/3-fan Radiator (freakin pain to assemble)
7 cold cathodes (3 UV, 2 red, 2 white)
2 UV meteor lights
2 sunbeamtech sound modules for cathodes
G15 Keyboard
G5 Mouse
Samsung ToC 220HD monitor
6.1 Creative Inspire Speakers (already had them so not included in price)
Sunbeamtech 9-bay acrylic case

Total: $3032.68 with tax and shipping/handling

I'll be upgrading to a GTX 295 soon and will replace my Kingston memory with 4x2gb sticks of corsair memory. It's already a sexy machine but after these changes I'll be happy.
