Either a Cowon d2 or a Sansa Fuze. The Cowon takes SD cards so I can carry huge amounts of ripped music with me. The Sansa would let me use my Rhapsody subscription - all I can cram into it for a flat rate.

My first PMP was a creative zen xtra. I upgraded (so I thought) to a 80gb ipod video. I absolutely can't stand the ipod. Itunes is the worst written app known to mankind. Comp constantly crashes. Ipod constantly has problems, won't turn off..locks up.etc. Looking forward to going back to a Creative Zen.

I currently use a 256MB Creative MuVo I received as a second-hand gift, since I rarely find myself needing a lot of music while traveling. But if I WAS to buy something now, it would be the Archos 5 120GB. It has a wi-fi browser built in, touch screen interface, and is only $200 @ Newegg right now. Finding something of that storage capacity in that price is difficult. I don't know how well the Archos brand holds up over long term use.
