going to stick with winXP for a few months. I don't care how well tested the new OS is and how many people are currently running the beta/RC versions, whenever a new OS is released to the public like Win7 is going to be tomorrow there is bound to be bugs found. I'm in no hurry to upgrade as my WinXP install is running solid and I might just wait till Win7 SP1 to be released.

I pre-ordered my copy, but only to get a good deal. I figure I can stick with XP a while longer, but will eventually need to upgrade, and why not get Win 7 at a greatly reduced price during the pre-order? I'll try downloading my pre-order too, but I imagine their servers might be a bit slammed. No, I won't be running Win7 for a few months at least.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro (RTM) right now. They did a very nice job with this OS. I'm looking forward to upgrading all of the computers on my home network in the near future.

Technet FTW - I have x64 Ultimate running on several PCs in the house now. If I had to buy it knowing what I know about the OS from my experience? Without a doubt.

I'm already running Windows 7 RC on my laptop and would surely have on my tower if it wasn't from problems with the NForce4 chipset. Oh well, it's a Opteron 180 running at 2.4ghz and 3gigs of RAM. Nothing realy new or shiny. I would be better to leave it on XP for now.

I have been running it since I built my new system in January. Since I do not believe in paying for operating systems, the beta came out right on time. Last week I ordered 2 intel x-25 g2 drives and tried installing the RTM on them (im a student I get it free yay) and was having trouble. I instead just settled for Vista. After 4 minutes with Vista, I refused to give up on 7 and finally figured out how to install it. Im too happy...!!! ALL HAIL BALMER!!

download both windows 7 ultimate for 32bit & 64bit OEM version online. try in vmware, works perfectly & pass activation 😀

WHY? Been running XP for years and not changing anything
Only losers will be running win7
Do u buy a new car everytime a new one comes out? Ie about 10 per month?
I still have my old 1995 MX-3 with over 132K miles, not buying a new car any time soon, much less an OS.
BTW anyone want to buy a slightly used OS< ie Visat?
Thought so, so why buy w7? NO good for me. Will not do anything that XP cant do.
SUCKERS Give ur mones to MS

I have been running 7 at home for a few weeks (MSDN's RTM copy) and I have a couple of problems with the ATI Catalyst drivers, so no gaming for the moment. Also, I had some problems with wireless drivers for 2008 R2 (Win7 Server) on a literally brand spanking new laptop.

So to those looking to upgrade: It is good, but it might be wise to have a rollback plan in case you hit some driver issues. They say that drivers that work with Vista will work with Win7, but this is not ALWAYS the case, just most of the time they will work.

No I won't be upgrading. Infinity Ward killed of any reason for me to upgrade my Socket 939 Athlon box running Windows XP.

It looks likes I'll be running XP for quite some time because I don't see any upcomming games worth wild.

I've got 2 laptops and 3 desktops running win7 already. Finally an OS worth using. Previously I had a mix of vista, server 2008 and xp installed on the machines. MS has finally made what should have been out 3 years ago.

I've been using the BETA's then the RC, now the Educational pre-release :)

Win7 is bar-none the best OS to date.

I also have 3 copies ordered via Amazon, back when they were $60.00, for friends/family.
