Hi there,
im currently running an Aorus b550 PRO v2 motherboard with a Ryzen 7 3800x.
Id like to know if i can use a quad channel kit ram on this motherboard, some sources on internet say you can, some say you cant and im not entirely sure what to think.
Im planning to install Kingston FURY Beast RGB, 4x8GB DDR4, 3200MHz CL16, some sites say it will run in dual channel mode, and thats fine for me but i wanna know if it will bottleneck or something. Would 2x dual channel ram perform better than a quad channel running in dual mode ?

Solution

Yes - you can use it.
But B550 motherboard is dual channel board. 4 ram modules will run in dual channel mode.
Quad channel mode is available only on server and enthusiast class boards.
It's better to use 2x16GB kit instead. It will allow higher ram frequencies.
