Here's hoping I'm back to fragging everyday. This was the best online FPS of all time. And the sheer number of maps and mods were insane. Lithium, Chaos Deathmatch, Rune's with Lithium. Maybe they can port the original Unreal tournament also. I'd never sleep again. These new games might look pretty but they are not half as fun to play. These days it's been Killing Floor that's been filling the gap, for me that is. And at the end of the day all a man really needs is to get in touch with his violent side. You feel me?

Couldn't agree more. Best FPS ever. Lithium+ hook mod were great.

[citation][nom]Hatecrime69[/nom]it's just a proof of concept with what html5/webgl can do, it was easier to do because some of the work was done for them already (from an existing port of the quake 2 engine to java) you can't expect a ton of work writing something from scratch to show off the in-working version of some standards, heck, this is more than what you typically see for a poof-of-concept, it's a full, working game (even if an old one)[/citation]

Maybe you are right... I think I am just a little bored of the rumour mill over the last 6 months.

wow, so after 13 years of technical advancements in hardware, we have managed to create a method of playing quake barely as fast as it would have been when it originally came out on 13 year old hardware...

round of applause there I think...

wasn't it google who said "even though hardware is getting better, software is getting more bloated at an even faster rate, net result, SLOWER programs"

and then they go and do this...

no really, my mind is boggled by the progress...
