I just installed windows XP on my computer, and now Q3 won't install. Is there some kind of patch that I need for XP?

When I try installing the game an error message comes up saying " the 32_bit setup is not able to run", then exits the installation.

Anybody know what the hell is going on?

it SHOULD in theory work fine, first verify that your copy of q3a is not damaged, and that there arent already all or some q3a files on your computer, if there are delete them, if u still cant install it copy the entire disc to the hard drive, or make an image file using nero on the hd or something.

The first LAN party I went to was at a PETA convention. They booted me when I shot a crab in HL!

"first verify that your copy of q3a is not damaged"

Heh. That was my first call, too.

But it can also be a bad cd reader (my kenwood I fixed, that piece of sh*t "korean" dvd drive I just chucked). It can also be poor ide drivers (XP with the 4n1 4.35's and .37's I had this problem with).

C@lling it like I c it...

try these hope it helps
1. Claen the CD

2. Make sure when you are trying to install Quake 3 that nothing is running in the background you can do this by hitting the ALT + CTRL + DEL keys at the same time selecting task manger then selecting things on this list and clicking end task to each one under applications

3. Test the cd in a diffrent CD ROM and or diffrent system and if works ok then your problem is the CD ROM and if NOT Format and reinstall os after backing up your data
