Hi,

I'm trying to decide for a computer case right now and I'm considering quiet chassis. I had, however, heard that some doesn't provide enough cooling.

Specs: 2 x Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme, i7-6700k, 4x8Gb 3200 Mhz RAM, ATX MoBo. Air cooling.

What would the best of these cases (any good one I didn't consider)? Would these cases provide sufficient cooling for my system, even being silent?

Define R5 Black
Define R4 Black Pearl
TT Suppressor Series
Corsair Carbide Silent/Quiet/Ultra-Quiet Series
Cooler Master Silencio Series

Any advice is welcome.

Best,
Nelson

I've been building my own computers for 15-20 years. After using many cases, I have settled on the Fractal Designs cases. I currently have 2 R4s and both are great. Very well built. One with a stock cooler and another with a closed loop water cooler for the cpu. At this point I won't buy anything but a Fractal Designs. I've used NZXT, Thermaltake and CoolerMaster in the past.

Thanks for the advice. Should I go for R4 or R5 then?

There are two 12cm fans in front, are they noisy ?

There are only one 12cm in front in the R5. And no, it is definitely not noisy.

a lot of times, it make more of a difference to NOT produce "noise" in the first place, rather than trying to silence it with a special case.

the fractals are nice, worth the money, but lately the thermaltake core series is what i see as "perfect" case, as everything (really) can be modified, including where the front panel goes, or on what side the window is.
plus, one side is completely meshed (filter), and allows for great airflow (in).

i do tend to buy silverstone foam, and cover all large unobstructed areas on side/bottom panels etc, to trap as much sound inside the case, as possible (silent "whore" with throttled 10dBa fans).
