Question about CPU

Hi, all! :)

I got a question concerning my CPU performance.
Ok. The CPU is E6750:
Multiplier - 8x
Bus Speed - 440Mhz
FSB Speed - 1760 Mhz
Core Voltage - 1.408 (when i play games or when it performs difficult tasks it's 1.39)

My motherboard is GA-P35-DS3 rev 1.0 with F4 bios.

My RAM is Super Talent DDR2 800 CL4:
Ammount - 4*1Gb, dual and symmetric
DRAM Frequency - 528Mhz
Timings - 5-5-5-15

Now, when i run 3d mark 06, the cpu tests are like slideshows. It's god damn slow. Now, in order to perform like this some of the components must stumble the other, but which one - the ram, the cpu itself or the mobo?
When i run orhos (Blend - stress cpu and ram) and memtest, no errors.
So, why is my CPU performing so miserably? :??:

Why is your voltage dropping under MORE load?
What sort of GPU have you got?

In fact, i only saw such core voltage when the cpu calculated factoriel of 100 000. And i presume that the voltage changes during hard tasks.
The GPU is Ati radeon 4870

The difference in load I *think* is called Vdroop. I *think*.

Being a physics student, you'd expect the voltage to drop slightly since more parts of the CPU are active, and since the CPU can only in theory have a set amount of power, and Current x Voltage = Power, if more current is needed to operate the CPU, the voltage across it must be less.

I would advise:
- Writing down all your OC settings, as accurately as you can.
- Resetting everything to stock (no need to flash or reset BIOS), and try running the tests again.

Then post your results/findings. :)

"So, why is my CPU performing so miserably?"

So I take it this is your question?

Have you checked for malware?
Have you checked for Virus?
How old is the original os install?
Have you tested the ram?

No viruses or malware software on the computer. I use Vista Ultimate 64bit and it's a week old. I use memtest to test the ram. Running 40 minutes and 200% coverage and no errors.

I understand that 3d mark is an intensive benchmark. But 1-2 ops for E6750 clocked at 3.5 is a bit low.
I think my CPU score was 3000 or something like that.

Yeah, that is about what I would expect as well. Don't concern yourself too much about the benchmark. How does everything do running games and apps? Are you having big slowdowns, or problems anywhere else?
With my 4600X2 clocked at 3.0ghz, I get 0-1. Slide show? HA! My CPU test looks more like a still picture.

Because it is ment as a CPU stress. I run Quad core and even my CPU gives me maybe 2-3 FPS in the CPU bench. I find it normal operation for 3dMark.

Cheers,

I didn't know that. Now i'm relieved. ;)
