Question question about gmail (which has an awful forum)

im trying to connect to my account on gmail but the recovery mail is not working and i i did not place a cell phone number . is the account permanently lost ?

i managed to connect once but i was dumb and did not place another mail or cell phone because i thought the problem was fixed . ever since im not baing able to connect again.

by the way is the number of dots that appear on the hidden recovery mail accurate or not ? like 12 dots mean 12 letters ?

recovery mail is an old account from hotmail , im sure i placed the right mail but gmail is not recognizing. it however the e-mail i placed has not 12 letters. so maybe im wrong.
