I just got a new computer so I can play games like Crysis and COD4 etc. Anyways I have been reading about overclocking all weekend. I currently have my q6600 at 3.21ghz running stable at 1.325 volts, I have my memory running at 4-4-4-12, and I have my EVGA 8800GT running at 718/1750/1054. All of it is stable and there are no artifacts with my video card settings. Anyways I am a complete noob with computers. I know enough probably to get myself into trouble with them :lol: .
Now to my question. I have followed the sticky here for OCing my q6600 and have read many other threads. I am really unsure what to do with the north bridge settings. Specifically in the bios for my Asus P5E board it says "FSB Strap to North Bridge". It is currently set to auto and I am sure this is probably bad since the cpu is overclocked but I really can't find much on what to do with it.
BTW I can run Prime 95 all day long with no issues. Core 0 and 1 never get to a max right at 60 degrees under load and 2 &3 are about 5 degrees less. My GPU temp maxes at about 60 degrees as well as I run the fan at 100%. I use core temp and HWMonitor to monitor temps, Prime 95, for stability testing, and both games and ATI utility for video card artifact testing etc.
