Question Question About Samsung 980 Pro 500GB

I have the nvme ssd Samsung 980 Pro 500GB.I run some tools to count the Read/Write Speed.

The health of the disk is good, but the Read/Write Speed values is far from theoritical values.

Why is this happening;

Depends on your motherboard, if it has pcie 4 m2 slots. You won't get gen 4 speeds on pcie 3 m2 which 3500MB/s suggests as such.

Yeah, motherboard supports pcie 4 nvme ssds but unfortunately 5700G doesn't. I don't know why Amd limited G versions of 5xxx series to pcie 3. Non apu variants do support pcie 4 however.

Unless doing large file transfers regularly you won't be missing much. If games is one of your activities the random access performance is what you're after and that'll be no different between gen 3 and 4 and even sata ssd will be no different too.
