So, I bought a MSI GTX 1080 and I came across a similar problem as with another video card I used (GigaByte GTX 1080 Windforce OC).

The issue is as follows; whenever I play Black Ops III, I should be able to play on max graphics with consistent FPS (considering the card + processor + ram) which are the GTX 1080, Intel Core i7 7700K and 16GB of Corsair Vengeance. Now as you may have guessed, it does not perform that way. It has a solid average of 140FPS with everything maxed out, but sometimes (I'd say every 30 seconds - 2 minutes), frames just drop out of nowhere for a second or 2 to 20-30FPS.

These are my entire specs (incase this is needed):
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K clocked at 4,20GHz
RAM: 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance
MOBO: MSI B150M Bazooka
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX (MSI Gaming X edition) 1080 8GB VRAM
Harddrives: 2x Samsung Evo 850 SSD 250GB + 1TB SSD WD Blue + 1 External TB
PSU: Corsair CX600M
OS: Windows 10, 64 bit

I tried lowering the graphics, but the issue did not (completely) go away. It did, however, slightly resolve, but not entirely.

I have no clue what could cause it, the only thing I know is that, when installing the drivers for both 1080's, my screen went black and wouldn't go on anymore. As in the monitor was on, but I wouldn't get anything but a black screen (this went on for an hour). So, I restarted my PC and everything was fine after that. But looking back on it, could it be an improper installation of the drivers, or could it be something else?

Thanks in advance.
