Question regarding duel link dvi to vga monitors

If i were to buy a GPU with dual link dvi and i tried to connect it to a VGA monitor, would it matter if i did VGA to dvi then a dvi cable or a dvi to VGA with a VGA cable. i am quite confused about this kind or wiring so hopefully i can get some help

Instead of just messing around with vga wiring, you can just buy a new monitor. You won't regret it. Anything is better than vga.

Some GPUs come with DVI to VGA adapters, some don't. Just make sure the brand your buying does and it will work without issue. Otherwise you get to look at pictures to make sure your adapter will fit your DVI out on your GPU.
