Question Questionable Laptop OC results

Splendid
I know this isn't reddit and people won't be like that but please don't come asking "why would you overclock a laptop?" or any of that judgemental stuff.
This discussion isn't so much to discover a root cause or fixing the OC as it is just discussing why my findings are what they are.

This is the laptop I'm working with, only difference is it has 12GB of RAM.

I achieved a modest overclock by letting the processor exceed the wattage but am not sure by how much, I'm used to working in BIOS or XTU and here I was using some GitHub app (I think Universal x86 something or other). I don't have a license for HWInfo for this machine so I didn't do my usual due diligence with temps and speeds.
I also used Afterburner and got some decent increases there too.

Everything was stable though after a bunch of stress testing.

When I went to retest MK1 (I know it's only 1 game and not super optimized but it's the whole reason for this all). I observed a hard 5FPS drop. Now that might not sound like much but I remind you this is a 1650 and that's the difference between 55fps and 60fps pre-overclock.

So what are some reasons I might be seeing this? Again, I'm not used to AMD (CPUs) and I'm not used laptop overclocking since they typically (this doesn't) have full customizable BIOS

Temperatures ?

Temperatures ?
Normal. I was using a free version of something before and after and the temps were well below anything to worry about.

I ran into goofy stuff with my other "good" laptop and wasted excessive time thanks to Passmarks crap software. That laptop though too gave me odd results while A-B testing RAM. I think I'm being told by a greater power to stick to desktops.

better undervolt your laptop if it too hot and throttle, you also can try disable throttle or raise the throttle temp to 100°C. o.c the gpu bring much gaming experience than cpu

Just noticed one thing, how did you end up with 12GB of RAM ? Did you just ad a 4GB module ?
Mtw, HWinfo is free, don't need a license.
One is an 8GB and one 4GB. Both are the same brand and sub model and both are single rank. It's what I had lying around that I was willing to "sacrifice" for this laptop. Its going be solely be for MK1 for my brothers who don't have a PC or Xbox Series and after showing them the poo-poo Switch port they were going to initially get.

So in short, just doing this as a kind gesture which is why I'm not overly concerned about the actual reason for the odd results I've encountered.

As for HWInfo, unless something changed there were values the free version didn't show that the Pro did. Maybe I incorrectly associated those missing features to needing a license to use it.

My and I use this loosely, Good laptop had questionable results overclocking. I didn't look too much at the modules as much as I did just jumping straight into the OC. My matched 2x16 (32GB) kit is 3200, anything above that performance degrades, guess I lost the lottery on those. My 2x32 (64GB) kit that was 2933, must have won the lottery on those, went up to 3200 and actually outperforms the JEDEC specd 3200 RAM in a few tests. I dunno. I don't know enough about the workings and not pickyness of laptops to make an educated this or that out of it.

HWinfo pro is just license for commercial use, nothing special about it.
