[SOLVED] Questions about graphic driver, help !

Currently looking forward to upgrade my Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 gaming-A 8GB to the new RTX 3080 maybe the Asus TUF/ROG Strix variant which ever available first here on local retailers.

My real confusion is do I need to clean install my old graphic card drivers like using DDU for instance or I can just simply use the new GPU with my current graphic driver since it's still a Nvidia GPU ?

And the last thing, sorry if it's kinda dumb question. Does 6+2 pcie cable equals to 8 pcie cable ?
