I plan on replacing the 3 default case fans with 5 new fans, but I have an issue. I am not sure if the h100 comes with fans and how I should go about choosing the amount of fans and there placements. Basically I need suggestions on how the hell I should put my fans in and if I have to many fans. Also with this fan setup without a controller is the air flow positive?

Also I have chosen the 750d because I plan to upgrade in the near future. The storage devices I already own so I cannot remove those from my list. Thanks

Fan controller isn't needed in most cases, but your mobo only has 2 fan headers, and one will be occupied with H100i.
But there're more important issues with the build as I see it:
- 144Hz monitor with 970 – that GPU won't show over 100 fps in modern games on high, might even struggle to get 72.
- motherboard isn't a great overclocker
- 750W for this build is too much unless you want to SLI later
- too many fans :)
I used to be a fans' fan just like you until I tested my build with 3 fans that came with the case and saw that they are able to hold low temps in my case (thanks to outstanding performance of U14S and low-power Strix card)

Ok thanks for response. Do you have some suggestions on parts I should choose and monitors. Also I am not using the default case fans atm, should I?

Unless you're pursuing silent build (and you're using water cooler, so no, you don't; also PSU/GPU buzzing can screw this up badly, like in my case) or you expect extensive heat production (not in your case, either), you should stick with case fans for starters.
As for your build, I'd change everything except RAM and, maybe, CPU. Why? Because either I'm a fanboy of particular (quality) models or there're better choices and overall build will be not more expensive or even cheaper.

I'd start by asking why do you want OC setup and water cooling. Is it fashion or just for fun, or you expect better performance? And then ask about your budget (in CAD, is that right?) Then I'll try to come up with some good build for you.

Well here is my preference: I already own the storage devices listed and the graphics card so I cannot change those. I like my ram choice and I plan to OC with my CPU. I prefer the H100 cooler over any other coolers on the market. The case I choose because I plan to upgrade. I need the wireless adapter because I am far from router. I don't really care to much about the monitor type (I guess 60hz would be the way to go) the psu, and the keyboard. My biggest worry is the case and its fan. I am a huge fanboy of corsair and their fans. If it is possible I would prefer to get a fan controller than have to buy another brand of fans but if I need to buy another brand of fans I will (if its better performace)

My budget is around $2000-2100 CDN not including taxes but if you go over or under I will understand. ($100 is a pretty small price range to stay within).

I went with the OC and water cooling because I thought it would give better performance. I would like to keep the 4690k for when I plan to expand upon the build a little more but other than that.

Thanks.

Full-tower case is ploughing huge, man, I doubt your "plan to upgrade" includes smth. like 3 GPUs and custom water loop for all components.

OC won't give you "better performance" in games, and even in other software since i5 isn't truly a workhorse CPU. It's a good 4-core, but you can go with locked version of i5 or with Xeon 1231 v3 for no performance drop.

I don't share your fondness of AIO water coolers, and H100 is definitely not the best cooler (it's nice, though), and it definitely won't outperform good dual-tower air coolers which also will be quieter.

PSU: for a single card you're looking at good 550-650W PSU from XFX, Seasonic, etc. Visit this link

And I'll say it again, you don't need that many fans. But choose mobo with a little bit more fan headers.

Ok thanks for the response man.
