Will pre-rendered frame 3(aka low latency off in 2020)have smoother picture than pre-rendered frame 1(aka low latency on) while the game can basically run at 60 fps(with vsync)? Heard someone say pre-rendered frames 3 gives them smoother picture compare to 1 but didn’t state what fps. Does this apply to when you get solid 60 fps gameplay? Or does pre-rendered frame 1 on solid 60 fps is already as smooth and perfect?

And one more. In vsync, does capping fps for stable 16.6 ms makes any difference compare to uncapped that has small fluctuations around 16-17 ms? From my experiment, didn’t see any difference, but just to make sure.

Solution
If you can always get 60FPS under any circumstance than pre rendered frames will do nothing,on nvidia you can turn them off completely (low latency ultra) ,
but if for any reason there is a slight delay on a frame you have a few backup frames to smooth things over.

It depends on the eye of the person some people can notice it others don't.

What could be the "slight delay on a frame" you refer to? Can stable 60 fps cause that issue?
