Question Quick Question About Overclocking CPU

Hey everyone,

Super quick question here. Right now, I have an AMD FX-8350 8 core 4gHz CPU. It's served me fine for these past few years, but it's getting a little dated. I want to invest in a new CPU eventually, but for now, I was considering overclocking it. My motherboard has a switch to do so (which, if I understand correctly, means I just flip the switch).

My only question is if this will be dangerous for my PC - or my CPU - in any way.

What is your entire system spec including PSU make and model?

You would need to go into your bios to change settings on your cpu. What switch are you referring to? Also need to know what motherboard and system specs you have.

Things that OC depends on: Motherboard, Cooling (Cpu and case) and PSU to some extent.
Dangerous ? Yes if all of those components are not up to it.
