Quick question for how Ram is "optimized" for certain MOBO chipsets

So! I was overlooking my select ram, and it said: made to be compatible with select chipsets: BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, Etc.

My question here is, Does it really matter what it is compatible with? I'm gonna be using a B85 chipset as i dont plan on Overclocking the CPU (though, I am OC-ing the GPU) and, Want to make sure i have working memory 😀

Extremely seldom, generally it's advertised to the Chipset that is most current to it's release and then they add additional chipsets, but pretty much DRAM is DRAM, you will prob notice most all advertised chipsets are Intel due to the fact AMD hasn't really done anything with their MCs in a long time and are still pretty much limited to 1866 sticks (w/ CPUs) while Intel has long used even faster DRAM
