quiet AMD cooling solution

Hello currently I have an AMD XP 1700+ Palmino core cooled by Vulcan 6cu(4000rpm). The noice is horrible and I would like to ask you if a 2300 rpm cooler wont burn my CPU

I was wondering to get the Spire WhisperRock IV™, will it be ok for an AMD cpu? I even consider buying a cooler version of the CPU wich works on 13u.

The bottom line is : How can I cool my AMD cpu with a quiet solution, and not burn it ( I live @ a hot country )

I'm assuming from that statement that you've got a Palomino core XP, and they were awfully hot chips - but yours isn't too high up in the range, so hopefully isn't too bad.
What sort of temperature is your chip running at now?

Checked the specs on that HSF you mentioned, and it should be fine, as well as very quiet.

<b>Zalman</b> also do a range of silent or quiet coolers - you could have a look at them.. I'm a Overclocked Jet engine man myself, so have little personal experience of quiet coolers.

Most AMD processors can easily tolerate 70 degrees. So if slowing your fan doesn't exceed that, you don't need to buy a new cooler.

The WhisperRock looks very good and is for AMD processors. The Zalman CNPS5100 series are excellent as well.

You can also use a zalman "fan mate 1" with your present heatsink. If you adjust the fan to 3000-3500, you'll notice a significant drop in noise, without a big increase in temperature. The fan mate sells for $5-7.

I like the Vantec aeroflow on my xp 2100+.
Plus it makes cool noise(quiet) with its unique fan.

And if your mobo supports it, there's always the Thermalright SLK-900 and a speed-adjustable (for low RPMs) 92mm fan. Otherwise a Thermalright SLK-800 or a Swiftech MCX462+ combined with a speed-adjustable 80mm fan would certainly do the trick.

And if not there are always 80mm to 120mm and 92mm to 120mm fan converters so that you could mount a speed-adjustable 120mm fan on there. :O

And don't forget the Arctic Silver Ceramique. (Or making your own carbon black solution.)

These are, of course, extremes. 😉 I only mention them because the more traditional solutions have already been covered pretty well.

Try this one: Speeze CPU Fan Model 5F263B1M3 for AMD/Intel Socket A/370. They are $12 with shipping at NewEgg and very, very quiet. I've put about 7 of these onto systems I've built for other people and they outperform my Volcano 7 by about 3 degrees.
