Hey guys
I'm currently running

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5Ghz

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+

Memory: Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600

Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB Video Card

Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ White Certified ATX Power Supply

It's a really nice sweet spot rig but I want to stick another R9 270 into it? Was wondering what I would need to do to make this happen, I literally have no idea.

This was the first time iv built a pc.
If you guys can tell me what I need and what you recommend I'd appreciate the help :)

Dear,

your mobo has support for crossfire so get another R9 270 and fix it in PCIe slot right beneath the PCIe slot on which your current card is installed. Use crossfire bridge to connect two cards.

Single R9 270 pulls roughly 150W. You can do the math :)

FX 6300 is power hungry.

So you'll have to buy 600-650W PSU.

Get Corsair HX 650 PSU. It is tier 2 product. It has 54Amps on +12v rail and it is 80+ Gold so giving you efficiency of more than 85%.
Plus it will give you headroom as well. If budget is a issue then stick with 600W
Good Luck
I am not so sure I would recommend crossfire if can avoid it and go with a 770, 7970 or 280x. If you are sure you want to do this, then I would recommend a better power supply of 600 watts or greater. And if your Motherboard supports it (crossfire I mean) and has 2 pcie 16x slots then you plug them simultaneously and connect them with crossfire tape and you should be all set.

You will need a 700-800 watt psu not 600.
I have two r9 270s and they are great very happy with them. I can also tell you 95 percent of the bugs with crossfire have been worked out. I had crossfired 6870s before and they had some issues (especially with heat) but not as bad as what you read. I think things get kind of blown out of proportion a lot of times because the only people we ever hear from on the forums are people having problems( from my experience ). Not to mention in most situations the two r9 270s are faster than the r9 280 and the gtx 770 if you overclock them to the speed of the 270x you will be beating the gtx 780
