Hello guys, I've been asking some questions and now I have another one, which is better R9 270 or GTX 950? Both are 2GB but i know that the GTX 950 is 75w (the low power version of ASUS), my PSU doesn't even have that pin connectors but now I don't have money for another one, so which should I choose? Games that I play: BeamNG (medium settings, struggles a bit on my 950M), Minecraft, PC Building Simulator and some VMs and video editing at 720p60.

Cheers.

Solution
Either get a new PSU with appropriate connectors or buy the 950. Your PSU does not have a 6+2 pin because it is not designed to power a GPU requiring this connector.

Molex connections are not designed to deliver the same current as a PCIE plug. So when you draw a lot of currents, you can start melting wires and shorting to earth. Also, you may overload the PSU and cause the PSU to trip protections shutting down your PC. Or the PSU just fails and kill things.

They trade blows depending on the game and since your PSU doesn't even have the right connection I wouldn't even bother considering the R9 270 although make sure your PSU is sufficient enough even for the 950.

Performance is much the same between the R9 270 and GTX950.

However, performance is mostly irrelevant as a PSU without any 6 pins is incapable of running an R9 270 since all R9 270 models I see require a 6 pin at minimum.

So, the GTX950 is the card you should buy.

The 950 will be a good improvement over the mobile 950.

Thanks for the replies, my PSU is 450w.

It has a ryzen 3 1200
Good little CPU, although slightly hampered by its 4 threads and original Zen architecture. Should have no issues holding back a 950.
2hix 450w
According to this http://loja.socria.net/ficha_artigo.php?products_id=14343&osCsid= your PSU is rated for 15+16A on the 12v rails, which is enough for a 950.

However, I do not know anything about this PSU brand, so it may not be of good quality. Also, the majority of the power being on the 5 and 3.3v rails indicates a very very old PSU design.

It may be fine as nothing is a major power hog in that system, however, I would definitely consider an upgrade if possible.

Thanks for the quote, would it handle a gtx 960 turbo with a molex adaptor? Since it’s more a future proof card and only 10€ more expensive.

No. Adapters like that are a very bad idea.

I found out the hard way a lil back.

Result? Adapter caught fire and was destroyed, 2tb Seagate Barracuda was KIA, I gained a smoky smelling room, and an unhappy me.
Wow that’s bad, so I may buy the GTX 950, but I’m worried because a friend told me that is a bad gpu (low end), but nothing like try because my psu doesn’t handle much more.

Buy a GTX 1650 instead, the recommended psu is 300 and uses 75 watts. It is only $145 Euros, according to the amazon.co.uk. If you can spend around $30 euros more, you can pick up a 1660. I recommend buying a 1660, even if it may be out of your budget. There's also RX 570 which is slightly better and roughly the same price of the 1650, although it needs 450 watts minimum which you have.

Sad in here costs 194€ which is about the final price of what I’m paying for this build.

Yeah, and I would be grateful to have one, but I have to stick with this until I can upgrade. Just hoping I don’t lose too much performance on cpu part.

Ryzen 3 1200 is still a capable CPU imo. Also, if it were up to me, I'd rather spend the money on the psu and then save for a new gpu. But that's just my opinion, and you could order used gpu.
