Hi everyone,
I have recently upgraded the graphics card inside my pc and it is giving me some grief with not recognising the correct card....it is a pre built systm from a few years ago acer asprie m5201 with a quad core phenom and 4gb ddr ram.

installed a msi R9 270X 4gb gaming edition however vista detects a hd3200 and I get conflicts with CCC from amd

I would add some pics of cpuz etc but unsure how on here

Heres hoping and thanks in advance
Billy

It sounds like you are still using the onboard IGP, which is the 3200.

Plug the card in, and swap over to it's ports. Stop using the ones on the motherboard. You should do that after you delete the current drivers. Windows should use a standard driver once you boot up.

I have tried to reselect in bios to use main one gxof setting cant remember exactly which was the pci-e x 16 option ?

please tell me how do i swap over to its ports in bios?

Monitor in motherboard delete AMD drivers. Restart. Go into bios and reset factory default. Shut down. Put card in and hook up power. Plug monitor into card. It should load into windows from there. (You'll need to install the drivers from AMDs site to make it look "normal" again.)

Edit: I'm going to bed soon so this is the last from me for awhile. Assuming the card is new and you have a PSU enough to drive it this should work.

no and im not sure where to find this option to be honest

Your display cable. Do you have it plugged into the motherboard or to the video card? If you are still plugged into the motherboard, that is your problem. You should have your cable plugged into the video card itself.

Before you change this(if you need too) uninstall your drivers for AMD. I recommend using this program in Safe mode to do that: DDU http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

I recommend this because of the age difference between your two graphics cards. Just uninstalling the card may leave leftover files that can cause issues. Using the DDU and removing all AMD drivers will make it just like you never had a card in your system before at all, and can help greatly to bypass any issues you may have with the drivers or card working properly. The only thing better to do would be a full reinstall of Windows, but that shouldn't be needed at all if you use the DDU.

Report back if you run into any issues, and I will try to help further. :)

hi thx for the reply
I am plugged directly into the dvi port on graphics uninstalled the standard vga adaptor and rebooted but it still does not recognise the card i have used an uninstall programme to remove registry as well...still see nothing but a standard vga ? will give this a whirl as well and will report back
