R9 280x break down buy r9 290 or gtx 970 ?

So my r9 280x graphic card break down for unsure reason guess problem with fan cause it, so i need to buy new graphic card i thinking r9 290 or gtx 970 ,i not sure which is best ,i focus on performance/price ,i not want to spent more money since r9 280 kind of wash away half of my money already but if it worth it i might buy more expensive.

so simple put what best in a way that best for gaming & best for money too ?

my spec i7 3770
12 gb ram
powersupply 750w.

A nvidia gtx 970 will be the best in this match up, if you want to try nvidia out for a bit that is the gpu for you as it will last a looooong time... I'm in the same position as you right now haha and I decided to go a 970 and it hasn't disappointed either, it runs really well with games like Unity. It is the best bang for buck deal for the performance you will find at the current moment.
