R9 290 Tri-X with power requirement help

650 watts is the minimum for a reference design R9 290, interestingly for both X and non-X models. You should be good.

ouch a 8320, you need to overclock the crap out of it, to minimize the bottleneck, problem is those CPU's are terribly inefficient and weak. An overclocked FX can use over 200 watts itself🙁

650W is plenty. Wattage isn't everything. The more important stat is the ampere rating on the +12V rail. Even a quality 550W PSU will suffice.

yeah i know what you mean i could get a 1000w psu with only 12amps while this card needs 42amps on 12v rail

i dont plan to overclock the gpu but my fx 8320 a bit overcloked from 3.5 to 3.8, is that too much for my 650 bronze plus PSU?
