The 380 is faster than the 960 by quite a bit.
Check tom's benchmarks:

Which one is better for budget gaming pc? Paired with a i3 4130. No fanboys please!
380, there are enough benchmarks online, and even on this forum, this is a frequent asked question, i recommend to read some of the other threads about this question
I read one post, everyone is 380 is better, in a different post, everyone says that 960 is better.
the 380 is more powerful, the 960 is more energy efficient. and the 380 is a tat cheaper as well
Well £30 more will get me +2gb of GDDR5. So this is way better http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YXSL3YW?keywords=R9%20380&qid=1437556059&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1?
not really, in the benchmarks i have seen the buffer size did not influence the performance, but i would take the 4gb variant, better save than sorry, and it doesn't hurt performance
