Radeon 7850 + 450w PSU?

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Hey everyone, I'm doing a minor (see: long needed) system update. The PSU is less than a year old, so I'd like to keep it if at all possible, but my monitor is on the fritz and my wonderful little 8600 GT (that I've had for...4 and a half years now) is finally starting to show its age. I'm upgrading to a 1680x1050 monitor, and I'm considering my GPU options. I've got two basic questions here:
-First, if I decide to go up to my budget limit and splurge on a Radeon 7850 (which claims to require a 500w PSU)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004, will my Antec 450w'er be able to handle it? I've see the maximum wattage draw on the 7850 and I'm not going to be running many other components, so I'm guessing it'll work but I'm not sure.
-Second, if the 7850 doesn't work out, should I go with a GTX 650 Ti, or save myself that extra 30 bucks and go with a 7770? Thanks for the help!

im having this problem myself newegg has a decent corsair 600 watt psu for like 60-70 bucks or so id spend the extra to get it if your gonna get a 7850 anything under the 500watt range and your gonna have problems

In the recent system builder marathon Tom's used an i5 + 7850 rig with an Antec 400 watt PSU:

Fully loaded, these gaming-oriented rigs still sip power relative to what we'll likely see during the rest of this quarter's System Builder Marathon. Even if we estimate 85% efficiency, our 400 W power supply is only being asked to output 184 W at peak load.

Your Athlon chip will draw more power than the i5 (if it is 95 tdi, then about 25 watts more), but you should still be fine with the Antec 450. Congrats on unlocking the 4th core btw; nothing like getting more performance for free.
