Hello,

I am running a AL2216W thru a Radeon 9200, on a Sony VAIO. And I plan on buying a second AL2216w. But I cannot get the monitor to run 1680x1050 thru DVI, it will work VGA, but not DVI. Am I missing something, I planned on running both at 1680x1050. I know it works on the VGA, but not the DVI. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If it is like the monitors we have at the office "Samsung Syncmaster 213T" which have both analog and dvi inputs and a native resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. BUT the dvi input will only support 1280x1024. So if you want the image to be clear and high resolution you have to use the analog input.

I looked up the monitor you have and cant find any info about it other than the very basic specs. My guess at this point is they saved a few bucks by not putting a high end DVI interface on the monitor and just figure you will use the analog input.

Ask the tech support people for Acer if the DVI can support the native resolution of the panel.
