I am currently having problems with my video card for my laptop (Acer Aspire 7416-6426)
The video card is an AMD Radeon HD6550M
I uninstalled the driver, then cleaned in safe mode then installed the driver using this link http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx
But unfortunately it took me a while to find that link and so i used this link from mypcdriver.com http://www.mypcdrivers.com/results/download.php?item_id=98431544&scanid=E4648877388644E7AB4C20B06A6D5451&hardware_id=PCI\VEN_1002%26DEV_68C1%26SUBSYS_05171025 to update my driver
For a while my device manager was showing no display adapter at all (weird because my screen was fine except for the horrible resolution) then i got it to show a VGA adapter (which operated at the same horrible resolution)
Then i found the first link, installed it, restarted it and the resolution was still horrible. But now i see in my device manager under my display adapter : AMD Radeon HD 6500/5600/5700 Series (I'm sure that it only said AMD Radeon HD 6650M before i did all these things, it even says in the sticker of my laptop)
Now, when i run dxdiag and go to display it shows that i have no video card at all, everything is unavailable. I try to play my games but of course they dont work because my computer doesnt "see" my video card even if it's in the device manager
Could it be that it's confused? That's why it's listing 3 different video cards in my device manager?
I also have 2 restore points, 1 of them is 3 days before i uninstalled anything and the other is around 3 hours before i uninstalled anything. I am afraid that they will soon disappear and i'm wondering if doing system restore will restore everything to 3 days before i did anything.
Thank you for your help
