hi everyone, i'd just wanna ask , how do you overclock your radeon ?? using asynchronous or synchronous clock of the radeon core and the memory chip. i happen to notice something weird. i overclock my radeon and if i try using synchronous clock for the core and memory, it shows better scores on 3D mark 2001. about 20 points difference. but i can overclock my memory far further than the core using asynchronous clock. what about the results you guys got ? any idea why is this ? ever tested this ? please get back to me , thanks ,

Personaly I use a Sychronous speed of 200Mhz for my Radeon DDR 64mb. In Theory the Asynchronous setup is good because it allows the GPU to hit higher speeds then the Ram is capable of. The Raddon was designed for use in Sychronous mode, and when used in Asynchronous mode it can cause lock-ups (mainly in 3dmark)

thanks for the reply , well , i am using radeon 7500 , it is default at 275 230 , thus is not synchronous but still it shows when i overclock it that the radeon 7500 still performs better in synchronous clock, my radeon 7500 is now at 330 GPU & 425 memory , but still it perform worse than 330&330 configuration, i'm just wandering why,

What are you guys using to overclock yer 7500? I got me one...and wanna see what she can go up to. It's the OEM, and I've read round yonder that the OEM in underclocked...that must be remedied. I have not overclocked a graphics card...but I'm ready to give her a whirl.

If I don't get my 90THz AMD Quadraplex system soon, I'm afraid I may just combust right here.

How did you ever get your memory to 425MHz???!!! That's an unbelievable overclock! that 230 must be DDR, so I'm guessing the 425 would be too. That would mean 850MHZ!! 200MHz faster then even the Ti4600. even that 330 would mean 660 which is faster than a Ti4600 all on a R7500. Please tell me how you managed this.

i can get my card up to 210 210 but i want to put heatsinks on the card memory before i go any further.

orgianl clock was 183 183

what is better then a 7000 rpm, a 8000 rpm delta. to cause more noise to kill your ears :smile:

gracias. But I forgot about one of my problems...this pos card from CNETPC has some flaws...it won't except any of the official driver releases. They all tell me my card is not supported. What is going on here? What have they sold me? All my software says it's a Radeon7500...though it's the only video card I have ever had that doesn't post it's name upon boot...skips right past it.

Is this right?

That 3D tweaker says my default for my 7500 is 249.8core, and 364.5mem

Somebody help me...

According to THG, the original clock should be: 290/460

Yeah...that's correct number...2 dimms, 2 mobo's, and a 7500...all either junk sent by them, or previous jewels destroyed by some junk.

DIM POST, STUPID
POST = INPUT $X
STUPID = PEEK 420, 255

Well, it could be that your card is OEM. I've heard of many downclocked OEM cards and problems. For example a R8500LE is supposed to be clocked at 250 mem and core, but many OEM sell as 250/230 core/mem. Also if you fooled around in the overclocking, you could have downclocked it. Go into the overclocking utility and slowly push it to 290/460.
