Question Radeon super resolution

What is radeon super resolution settings and why is it disabled. When I start a game it pops out in top right corner some settings of my video card and for "radeon super resolution" it says disabled...i read on internet that you cant use radeon image sharpening settings at a same time ... Also for what is these two settings? Ive Got a New graphic card and beside instaling drivers I did not change any settings except changing refresing rate. Thanks in advantage for any help

Super resolution is basically if you’ve got a game not running well you’re supposed to be able to set it to a lower resolution in the game and use the AMD driver to upscale it back to the monitor’s native resolution.

They do state if the gave has fsr, that would be better to use though.

Image sharpening I think is just supposed to help clean up the image for better visuals.

Not really. You can do it on a game by game basis if needed. If the game doesn’t have fsr for example and you need upscaling then you can try it then. For example I remember trying to play Attila total war I think on a 6700xt. Should have been totally fine with the age of that game but I think the game may not have been well optimized so I remember dialing back the resolution in game and using super resolution to get it back to the screen resolution or close to it to get a better frame rate.

Sounds something that I May need to do anyway because I instaled arma3 on with New graphic card 12 GB drr6 and also New pc... So, I May need to try that with settings... What about some other newer game, does software recognize settings or I Will have to mannualy change it to get best video

For the most part the software/cards seem to do well at picking settings but every once in a while you may have to tweak. If you watch the amd software it usually will give you a baseline of how each game is performing. In fact if you are interested, they have an overlay you can enable so you can see in real time what fps/temps etc look like.

How to do that/where to go/any shortcut for fps/tempa... Thats interesting

Not at my computer but I think you go under performance and I think it’s under metrics on the right.

Usually, the keyboard input is Shift+Ctrl+O, then when in a game press Alt+R and then you can customize preferences and keep an eye on your game+hardware performance.

I always though it a pretty neat feature of the AMD driver and Control panel.
