Hi Guys,

My current build to-be-made is set with an OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD.

Yet i was wondering if it would be beneficial to performance (regardless of price), to get 2x 60GB Agility 3 SSD's and put them in a RAID 0 configuration

Is this wise?

You will definitely notice a large increase in throughput if you move up to RAID 0. However, at the current Newegg prices, this is going to cost you a premium of ~$40. Additionally, you are going to double the chance that you may have a data failure. Just remember that RAID0 is risky, if you lose one disk you lose the array.

Having said that, I have never had a problem with RAID0 and the improvement in data throughput in RAID0 SSD configurations is substantial.

I am hearing there seem to be a large number of problems with the SSD I was considering (OCZ Agility 3) due to a firemware update...

I don't know if you know of any SSD's fit to the task, that if put in a RAID config. would provide Read/Write speeds to that of OCZ standards?
