raid issue on boot

My Sata Raid controller card works perfectly in windows whether i use the four drives connected to it in an array or not: however, I can't seem to get them out of the main bios. Even when I disable them or remove them from boot order they attempt to load before the stand alone Sata drive operating system and the boot stalls for five minutes or more. I finally get a "primary master 3, primary slave 3, secondary master 3 and secondary slave 3 boot failure...F1... I hit F1 the computer boots up to windows fine and all drives work perfectly....but that five to ten minute stall during boot is annoying as hell...especially with windows pumping so many updates that require rebooting.

Is your boot order correct? Can you go into the BIOS and check from there? If your boot order is wrong and the RAID controller is listed as first, it will scan all those drives for a boot volume and if it doesn't find one, it will move onto the next device.

I took raid completely out of boot order and off boot list as well, but it wont come out of main bios and is still listed as primary and secondary ide and ider. I also changed SATA from IDE to AHCI (and tried RAID as well) even though its a pretty safe bet since they run on a controller not on the motherboard SATA plugins that was not going to help...and it didn't.

The only two drives on my boot list are the SATA drive with operating system on it (listed as number one) and the CD/DVD (listed as number two) but because they are SATA the primary and secondary IDE on main bios boots first anyway!
