i'll have to change the multipliers to do just the cpu?
i have pc 2100 ram running at 140 fsb and a xp 1700 chip. at 140 fsb my chip runs at 1540mhz and 280 ddr.

yes in order to up the CPU even farther you'll have to unlock the L1 bridges on the chip. There are several techniques to do this. The 1700+ runs at 11x. Unlocking this (if successful) may allow you a higher CPU rate. Than again it may not depending on it's stepping. I have yet to do it since I got my XP to run stable at 152FSB giving me 1672. There is no guarantee but if 1540 isn't good enough for you anymore, give it a shot and let us know what happens

i'm very happy with 1540 on air cooling atm...my board is a msi kt333 so i don't think i'll run it any harder till i water cool and upgrade my ram.

i tried being slick and went from 140 straight to 150 and when it rebooted my computer beeped insane and ;agkhaop[idhe'lakndsfl;kasd;lhte ran across the screen real fast filling it up, heh....i could probably get about 145 out of it.
