RAM being used from system for gpu

My gpu appears to be taking 2gb of ram. Any idea how to fix this?

Think your a bit confused,
The dedicated is the memory on board the graphics card it`s self.
Because you have 8gb of memory and a 64 bit version of windows.
Windows 8 will be using about 4gb of memory when the OS is running.
Don`t forget windows is always resident in memory once it has loaded from the hard drive.
The value left is what is free out of the memory once windows has loaded, to run other programs or games ect.

Look at your page filing.

It is always displayed as 6.7 Gb all over system, but It might be a windows 8 thing

Strange. I suspect you have a bad stick of ram with dead chips on it. Try swapping them around or even running one at a time to see how much they give. If one is giving less, it's a bad stick.

A windows mem test comes up without errors, so thats odd

I did, nothing.All 2Gb displayed, swapping tried They are different types of RAM, that might have an impact

Same brand, model, capacity.

So the problem is being caused by all the sticks being different? They are all 2gb but are different brands
