Hey everyone. I'm looking to upgrade my memory. I'm currently using 16gb (2x8) Patriot Viper Steel Series, 3200MHz and looking to upgrade to 32gb 3600MHz.
I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600X on a Gigabyte Aorus Elite V2 B550 motherboard, with the above memory and it works fine.
The problem I'm having is that all the options I've been looking at aren't on Gigabyte's QVL and the ones that are, are either: unavailable, discontinued, or ridiculously expensive. I'm guessing the QVL, probably hasn't been updated in some time and Googling has so much conflicting information, it makes my head hurt.
I've been looking at the following RAM and was just wondered if anyone could let me know if it will work, or if they can make any recommendations of RAM that will work. OR, if I'm all out of luck and it's a complete gamble.
Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL18
Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3600MHz Kit
Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C16
Kingston FURY Renegade 32GB 3600MT/s DDR4 CL16 DIMM

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

ive had susccess with these on gigabyte boards.

part number
KD48GU880-36A180U its in the list of supported gigabyte modules.

You DO want supported ram.
Go to a ram vendor web site and access their ram support list for your combo of cpu and motherboard.
CPU-Z will identify your motherboard and bios level.

Plan on a 32gb kit, adding another 16gb will be a mismatch and may nor run well, if at all.
Of course I want supported RAM. The problem is the QVL on the Gigabyte website for my board and CPU combination is very out of date: Most of the RAM listed is unavailable, or discontinued.
I'm also swapping out the memory, not just adding an extra 16gb to what I already have. So, I'm looking at replacing the 2x8gb with 2x16gb. But, like I say: Gigabyte's QVL is outdated and from what I understand, many people use memory, that's not on the list.

I have a slight mismatch set of memory on an Aorus ax v2, it’s a mix of Adata 16Gig sticks, 2 just happen to be 3600 cl 18. These run with no problems at their rated speed. The other 2 are 3200. I really can’t see any difference if I run 3200 or 3600 memory on the board other than in bench marks and then it only shows a very minor uptick with the 3600 memory.
3200 cl 16 in use is as quick as 3600 cl 18.
You could broaden your search for a 32Gig kit, 2x16 if you include 3200 cl 16.
