i currently have HyperX Fury 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL16, 2x 8GB
i'm looking into getting 16 more gb of ram and i'm not really sure which to choose that would provide fully compatibility with what i already have

i'm running ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO with ryzen 7 1700x and 1080ti (planing to upgrade to r7 5800x soon if that makes a difference)

would there be a problem if i go for 2x 16gb? so i can get 48gb all together..
or better to stick with 2 more 8gb.. so i have 32gb as 4x 8gb

would it be better to just get 2 16gb sticks? rather then getting 2 more 8's and use 4 ram sticks? the mobo has 4 slots
i'm not knowledgeble enough to figure this out myself

so, what i'm trying to clarify is: should i get
one more 16gb as 2x8gb to reach 32gb?
one 32gb as 2x 16gb to reach 48gb? is this a good ideea?
2x 16gb and stick with 32gb and leave 2 slots open?

also, how do i figure out what ram would have best compatibility with what i already have?
i'm looking into this 2x 8gb or this 2x 16gb unless you have better recommendations
thanks

Just to narrow it down a little all ram sticks should be from one kit.

The 3rd option.

Further reading as of why, here (especially "mixed memory" chapter): https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...y-ram-and-xmp-profile-configurations.3398926/

There is none. Mixing memory has 50:50 chance of them all working together. Read the article i linked.
