[SOLVED] Ram displaying half speed in all programs but correct in bios

my ddr3 1600mhz ram shows up in bios as 1600mhz but now windows task manager and cpu-z show it at 800mhz I also used the command wmic memorychip get speed
and it said both sticks where only showing data rate of 800mhz where as it was showing all this information correctly
I also understand the whole double data rate thing however this information was correct before and on all of my other builds the information is displayed correctly.
I have noticed quite a performance drop in my memory intensive applications

It’s DDR. 800x2 is 1600. Use CPUz and look at the Spd tab. What does it say

it also will only say 800 mhz

CPU-Z spd tab shows SPD table of a memory module.
To see current operating mode, you have to look at memory tab instead.

Clear your CMOS and reinstall the chipset drivers

If clearing the cmos and reinstalling chipset drivers doesn’t work I guess you’re stuck with installing windows again

I will attempt to reinstall the drivers
Another issue surfacing is that often times it will not go into bios atall but will go into windows just fine so I am forced to clear the cmos

forgive me for being dumb but I cannot find where to get the chipset drivers I have a MSI 970 gamaing motherboard on this build and an AMD FX-8370E

I flashed the bios and it fixed my issues for now

Can't see any of your screenshots.

If CPU-Z is showing 800mhz in memory section - DRAM frequency, then all is good.
You don't have to do anything.

Ignore Task Manager completely. It is known to show inaccurate info.
