[SOLVED] RAM not detected in BIOS ?

Hello
My motherboard had 4 gb of ram (two sticks)
And i decided to add one more stick of ram (hyper x 4gb)
Pc turned on and its working, so i know the ram is not dead.
In cpu-z it has detected 8gb of ram
But in task manager> performance it says only 3.5 gb is usable ?

And i cheked the bios, it only detected two sticks of 4gb ram, the added 4 gb stick is just not there, like it doesnt exist ?
I already updated the bios and it doesnt help

Did you try the other dimm slot, the slot may be dead.

Tried all of them
And i tested to boot pc with that stick only (hyper x 4gb) and it wont boot, i tried all slots
But when i but that stick and the two others 2gb sticks pc boots with no problem at all

I treid, but only for a few seconds

idk maybe like 5 min i had the same problem
do u have another mobo to try the ram on it?

problem might be with 3 ram modules, mainboard manuals says you can use 1,2 or 4 ram sticks

I will try then to put the 4gb stick and one 2gb stick

4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory

Your board only supports 8GB of memory most of the time that is using 4 slots so 2GB sticks are all that will work.

I think i understand, so my motherboard will not support sticks bigger than 2 gb per slot

are you using a 32-bit version of Windows? that would explain the 3.5GB limit

if the single stick doesn't detect in any bank by itself - it's defective or incompatible - exchange or RMA it
